It has been such a pleasure re-creating this illustration, inspired by one of my earliest Fab Feminist designs (circa 2015, I believe!) Almost 10 years later, I used the same basic composition but gave myself permission to play with gouache and colored pencils, adding more plant species and a bird & bee to better represent my understanding of what permaculture actually is. And, to top off the entire experience, I chatted with the kiddos the whole while about what permaculture and gardening means to me. This illustration feels like such a full circle symbol for my life.
