One thought that keeps spinning around my mind lately is how messed up it is that we, as a society, as a culture, as a collective, worked and fought through so many of these issues for literal decades. I can only describe this feeling as heartache, as I'm witnessing hard-won human rights slashed in the name of "greatness". I am trying to remind myself that if there is devastation in this history, there is also hope. There were strong leaders and thinkers and organizers before us, and we can look to their words for hope and guidance now. May we humbly draw on their strength as we reach out to one another in community.
