PSA Digital Download: A History Of Racism Is Something To Be Atoned For
It's week 2 of my new PSA Series. Since I was asked last week, all my PSA illustrations will be available on my website as digital downloads.
❤️Here are some resources for understanding why people are tearing down statues, and what you can do to support the removal of these monuments. (HINT: do you see any statues of Hitler in Germany???)
🌺 As of 2016, 1747 Confederate statues are still standing in the United States (though some of them have been tumbling down, lately!!!)
🌺Hop over to the SPLC Center website to educate yourself
🌺 If individuals glorify symbols of the confederacy, they are embracing and glorifying white supremacy, slavery and segregation. This is wrong. This is unacceptable.
🌺 If a government or organization glorifies symbols of the confederacy, they are instituting and propping up a *system* that values white supremacy, slavery and segregation. This is wrong. This is unacceptable.
🌺 Sign this petition to have Confederate statues and monuments removed

The purchase of this digital download does not transfer or imply any commercial license or rights to reproduce this image for any large-scale, and/or commercial venture. Illegal reproduction of this artwork, such as falsely claiming ownership of the work, conducting sales activities with the work, or any other activities not for personal use, will result in legal action. (Why do I have this big scary paragraph here? Because unfortunately there are lots of people who who regularly steal artwork and then turn around and sell it on scammy sites -and sometime legit sites, too - and it's increasingly difficult to track them down and get the work removed. Personal purposes may include teachers utilizing this work for classroom materials, so long as my copyright is retained in the image. The key takeaway here is: Don't sell my artwork, and if you use it for personal purposes, just make sure it's clear it's mine. If you have any questions, just email me directly at calliegarp @ gmail.com Thanks!)
