Doing the absolutely best to self regulate, but it ain't easy.
Strategies that help me:
✨ Go for a walk (as my partner says, I have never ever regretting taking a walk)
✨ Engage my senses (what can I smell, taste, touch, see, hear?)
✨ Practice some deep belly breathing (I tell my kiddo to put their hand on their belly and try to push it out with each breath)
✨ Focus on gratitude (list out a few things I'm grateful for each day)
✨ Cognitive reframing: noticing when I'm thinking a particularly negative thing and working to consider the equally likely positive thing. (this person used that tone of voice because they're secretly really mad at me. VRS this person used that ton of voice because they're really tired and need some rest)
